Walk in God's light

Lehi does not describe a mood board. He beholds a rod of iron along a riverbank, leading to a tree. Nephi later names that rod the word of God, and says those who hold fast would never perish. Light, here, has a rail.

A dark riverbank with a straight rail leading toward a luminous tree.

What the record does in Go and Do

Go and Do Chapter 4, The Tree of Life, plays 1 Nephi 8, 11:1–25, 12:16–18, and 15. King Benjamin also tells parents to teach children to walk in the ways of truth and soberness.

Quoted Book of Mormon

And I beheld a rod of iron, and it extended along the bank of the river, and led to the tree by which I stood.

1 Nephi 8:19

And I said unto them that it was the word of God; and whoso would hearken unto the word of God, and would hold fast unto it, they would never perish; neither could the temptations and the fiery darts of the adversary overpower them unto blindness, to lead them away to destruction.

1 Nephi 15:24

But ye will teach them to walk in the ways of truth and soberness; ye will teach them to love one another, and to serve one another.

Mosiah 4:15
